VisionType
Build a simple landing page to get feedback and test ideas cheaply before building more.
Overview
If you've gotten this far, hopefully you've used some of Lift Kit already to generate ideas and maybe even a mini product or service flow. What do you do with all those amazing ideas and sketches?
Next you need to bring those ideas to life in a simple way so you can share them, get feedback, test them with target customers, and refine them. A VisionType usually looks like a very well-designed home page of a website.
Creating a VisionType is an effective way to tell a story about your product in a simple, shareable way. It's the beginning of finding product-market fit — is there real demand for what you're creating?
We've helped clients create hundreds of VisionTypes over the years to test everything from apps to consultancies. They take many forms (a real HTML landing page, a PDF, an email), but they're all basically a linear vertical story about your product that quickly shares what you're offering, how it works, why it's worth buying, and who you are.
Landing the Landing Page
Developing a great landing page requires a systematic approach and attention to detail:
Identify your audience. Who are they? What are their needs and interests? What motivates them to act?
Define your value proposition — the unique benefit you offer. It should be clear, compelling, and easy to understand.
Keep it simple. Avoid clutter and distractions; focus on the key message. Use clear language and a prominent call-to-action.
Use high-quality visuals relevant to your product that support your value prop.
Optimize for conversions. Design it to encourage action — signing up, filling a form, or buying — with a clear CTA and persuasive language.
