Bored of Trade (“we”) operates boredoftrade.org. If you have a question about any of this, email hello@boredoftrade.org.

Only what you hand us. Specifically:

• Your email address— when you sign a Permission Slip, join, or log in. It's how accounts work and how we send your report.
• Your name — if you give it. Optional everywhere.
• Your quiz answers — the passions, skills, cravings, hobbies, the thing you said you want to build, and how much time you have. Plus the profile, project ideas, and permission statement generated from them.
• Your exercise work — anything you write in a Shift or Lift exercise, so you can pick it up later.
• A sign-in cookie— so you stay logged in. That's the only cookie we set, and it's strictly necessary. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We don't ask for your address, phone number, employer, or payment details, and there is nowhere on this site to give them to us.

• To generate your quiz results and Permission Slip.
• To email you your report, and occasional updates you can unsubscribe from at any time.
• To keep your account and save your exercise work across devices.
• To understand, in aggregate, which exercises people find useful.

Where the law requires a legal basis (for example the UK/EU GDPR): we rely on your consent for marketing email, and on legitimate interest or contract for running your account and delivering what you asked for.

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They process data on our behalf; none of them are permitted to sell it.

• Supabase — our database and login system. Stores your account, quiz answers, and exercise work.
• Vercel — hosting. Processes standard server request logs.
• Resend — sends your report and any updates. Receives your email address and the report contents, and records whether an email was opened or a link clicked.
• Anthropic — generates your personalized quiz results. Your quiz answers are sent to Anthropic's API to produce your profile and project ideas. They are not used to train models.
• Google— only if you choose “Continue with Google” to sign in.

Some of these providers operate in the United States, so your data may be processed there. We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.

Your account and its contents stay until you ask us to delete them. Quiz responses are kept so we can improve the tools and so your results remain available on your dashboard. Ask us to delete and we will, in full.

• Unsubscribe from any email using the link in its footer.
• Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or full deletion by emailing hello@boredoftrade.org. We'll action it within 30 days.
• Use the site without an account — the quiz works without signing anything.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights (access, portability, objection, or complaint to a supervisory authority). Email us and we'll help.

This site isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be mentioned by email to members.
